Dans Moise, on trouve les deux algorithmes caractéristiques d'un système de reconnaissance. L'un de «compression temporelle» réduit le nombre d'opérations élémentaires : le signal de parole, préalablement analysé par un banc de huit filtres passe-bande analogiques, est échantillonné toutes les 10 ms par un convertisseur analogique - numérique et subit une compression qui réduit chaque mot à un ensemble de 30 spectres. On élimine ainsi l'information redondante, et on réduit les effets de variation du rythme entre deux prononciations différentes.
